Our Mission!

Building financial confidence through family communication

We all believe we are managing our money the best way for our personal financial goals. This program offers help for couples in communicating about financial topics to each other as they begin married life.

MaryAnn and Dan Haverstock have been married for ten years. She has her M.S. in Engineering and an M.B.A. with a concentration in finance, and he has an M.S. in biostatistics.

The two have authored and edited the book CASH and the Couple: A New Couple’s Guide to Money Management. They also have been speaking on financial communication and management as part of couple’s conferences in Connecticut for four years. In addition, the two lead adult education programs for new couples to discuss ways to effectively communicate as a couple on financial subjects. By communicating to each other about their financial goals as a couple, and not just adding up the numbers every month, they are finding their strengths in themselves and each other. They hope to work with many more couples to do the same.

This web site was developed to:

  1. Offer weekly articles written by MaryAnn and Dan with family finance topics based on questions e-mailed in by new couples,
  2. Support the book CASH and the Couple: A New Couple’s Guide to Money Management,
  3. Consolidate the dates of conferences and adult education programs that include this program on one calendar,
  4. Assist new couples with additional current resources such as other text books, work books and web sites on financial communication and related topics.
